New classes have been added to Battlefront 2: Regular Soldier, Heavy Fighter, Officer and Specialist, represented by individual characteristics, abilities and weapons.

All weapons can be pumped, increasing parameters and installing modifications. The player collects upgrade cards. There are 4 levels of maps available. Improvements can be obtained for killing other players. Players can also play in the Arcade mode — an offline single player or local co-op where players can choose which side to play on and which battle to play in. Battles vary from team battles to onslaughts. Alternatively, players can choose to do a custom match, where they can change some of the settings and location.

Emperor Palpatine plots to lure an unsuspecting Rebel Alliance fleet into a trap using himself and the second Death Star, being constructed above the Forest Moon of Endor, as bait, seeking to crush the Rebellion against his Galactic Empire once and for all. She activates her droid, which sneaks to her cell and frees her.

Iden had allowed herself to be captured in order to erase the Imperial transmission, which would reveal the Emperor's plan at Endor. She successfully erases it, then escapes the ship by launching herself into space where she is intercepted by the Corvus, the flagship of Inferno Squad. Later on Endor, Iden, Hask, and Meeko secure the perimeter around the ruined shield generator, and watch with shock and horror as the second Death Star explodes. The Corvus is attacked during their escape, but Inferno fends off Rebel bombers.

Admiral Versio confirms to Iden that the Emperor has died. A messenger droid displays a hologram of the late Emperor issuing his last command: to begin Operation: Cinder.

Admiral Versio sends Iden to an Imperial shipyard to protect Moff Raythe and his Star Destroyer Dauntless, which hosts experimental satellites vital to the success of Operation: Cinder. Since then though the series has gone cold and the developers Pandemic Studios were bought and subsequently closed by EA. For years the possibility of a sequel seemed distant and implausible and EA gave no indication that they were planning a follow up. This changed at E3 in where EA announced that their studio DICE, responsible for the Battlefield series, would be developing the long awaited sequel.

There's now a dearth of screenshots and trailers released by EA and fans have had a good look at what to expect on release day in November and what to expect looks good.

The Frostbite Engine from DICE's Battlefield series is put to good use here presenting characters, vehicles and numerous famous locales from the franchise beautifully. The gameplay has a somewhat modern bent to it, removing the single player campaign in favour of a multiplayer only focus. This has been a sore point for some fans but from how it's looking the squad based, competitive play style looks great to us.

Also there's a distinct lack of space battles this time round but each arena is open for dogfighting with the playable area stretching high up into the sky. Star Wars Battlefront 2 is a re-release of the game, released back in , a new version of it, recently presented by the DICE studio, which was once again responsible for creating the toy corresponding to the Star Wars legend.
